So, this has been around the Internet for a few years now. All you have to do is compile a list of all the video games you’ve been able to complete in your gaming life. I have included sports games in my list, but only if I was able to win the championship/title/etc on the highest difficulty level (if applicable). I will also admit if I used cheats, Game Genies, Gamesharks, etc to finish a game. Finally, there are some games that I’ve played the heck out of, but you can’t really ‘beat’ them. These are mostly arcade games, Centipede or Ms. Pac-Man for instance, or certain types of simulation games, like Sim City or the Championship Manager/Football Manager series. These games are not included in the list.
I initially thought it would be a pretty slim list, because I have a fairly low opinion of my game playing skills. But overall… it’s not too bad, and there is a variety of genres on there, so I’m pretty happy with what I’ve achieved over the years.

Damn. I haven’t heard of some of the systems.
December 5, 2008 at 20:23
I think I’m more impressed by the amount of systems than the amount of games. I probably have less than 20 games I’ve ever finished. I don’t think I’ve finished anything not on this list other than different NHL iterations and some NBA Live ones. Oh wait, I consider finishing NBA Jam and NFL Blitz in the arcade as two of my life’s great achievements.
From your original graphic, I half-wondered for a second if you reached the kill screen on Donkey Kong or something.

Yeah, I just grabbed an image of an arcade machine at random. Even if I did reach a kill screen in an arcade game, I still wouldn’t consider it ‘beaten’. It just means you made the thing crash.
The only one I’m good enough to attempt that on would be Galaga, which dies after level 255. I’ve made it past level 115 before, so if I shut the world out and trained Fistful of Quarters style for a year, I might be able to get there.

Wow, someone to hold a candle to….no love for PS3 though?! And what about Atari 26 , Cammador 64, and Macintosh originals? I won’t even discuss the games seeing I may have some you never beat as you may have some I’ve never beat. PS I never even heard of Turbographx64 so that is the one system you got me!
March 10, 2009 at 22:11
Yeah, no love for the PS3. I doubt there will ever be any love from me so long as that system remains ridiculously overpriced and has zero exclusive games for it that interest me.
Most of the Atari games I played as a youngster weren’t the beatable type. You can’t really ‘beat’ Pong if you know what I’m saying…
